a WALK for a CAUSE

I am am just reposting my recent entry from my other blog for this is important. I would be very much thankful if you will pass the word.

I learned from my sister who is an alumni of Brokenshire College SocSKSargen, Inc that they are mounting a fund raising activity -WALK for a CAUSE tagged "A Joyful Walk to a Healthy Body and Mind" on July 20, 2010. This activity's primary objective is to raise fund for the forthcoming operation of one of the faculty of the said institution - Mrs. Alma Reyes, RN.

Open for all interested, the walk will start exactly at 5:00 in the morning from General Santos City's Oval Plaza and will end at Brokenshire College SocSKSargen, Inc for a breakfast. Tickets are sold for P100.00 and a pre-registration is required on or before July 17, 2010.

Now, let us do that WALK!

CALDA or Mamma Marias?

If you had been going around General Santos City lately, you must have noticed that there are lots of FOOD JOINTS sprouting like mushrooms. Another sign that the Tuna Capital of the Philippines is indeed progressing. Two places that are claiming popularity these days are the Pizza Joints - Calda Pizza and Mamma Maria's Pizzeria.

Both serve  affordable, large pizzas reaching up to 36 inches with different toppings to choose from. In case you been out of this planet and didn't heard about these two pizza joints, let me compare the two according to AMBIANCE, SERVING STAFF and FOOD.

Ambiance:
Mamma Maria's Pizzeria is more on the higher-end compared to Calda which features an outdoor seating. Mamma Maria's has good interiors that can be appreciated by groups and can be equally romantic for lovers while the latter is more of for the cowboy types with the picnic-like tables they use. I love the clean and dry comfort room of Mamma Maria's unlike those of CALDAs which lacks maintenance. Both are small, neither one can serve more than fifty people at once because of location restrictions. For coziness, I'll give the star for this category to Mamma Maria's Pizzeria.
